Install
The Chrome Web Store listing isn’t live yet.
We’re still in the review queue. If you’re here early — usually because someone from Lexington Playcare Center pointed you at this page — you can run the extension unpacked from the GitHub repository today, or check back in a few days for the one-click install.
Option 1: check back soon
The Chrome Web Store link will appear right here as soon as review clears. If you’d rather wait, that’s the easiest path — it’s a normal one-click install.
Option 2: install unpacked from GitHub (about 5 minutes)
The repository has a friendly, screenshot-heavy walkthrough for installing the extension directly from source. You don’t need to know how to code — you’re just downloading a ZIP and toggling Developer Mode in Chrome.
What you’ll need
- Google Chrome on a Mac or PC (not mobile — desktop only for v1).
- Your normal Brightwheel guardian login.
- About 20 minutes if you have roughly two years of history. Bigger accounts take longer.
- Enough free disk space for the ZIP. A typical two-year account is about 1–2 GB.
What it won’t do
- Send anything to us. There is no server. The extension is the entire product.
- Ask for a new account or a password. It uses the Brightwheel session you’re already signed into.
- Change or delete anything inside Brightwheel. It only reads.
